The Hester Consulting Group, a subsidiary of
HES, provides a wide variety of consultations in I/O psychology, management development, and supervisory training for international corporations, small
businesses, non-profit organizations, municipalities, and larger units of government.
The primary goal of Hester Consulting
Group is to maximize the utilization of human resources. Due to our proven track record of

are:Organizational Climate Assessment and Improvement
The climate is a critical element of organizational performance. When it is good, it promotes productivity, employee loyalty, and high morale.
However, when the organizational climate is poor, organizations experience high turnover, more expensive workers' compensation claims, unexplained reductions in productivity, and dishonesty. Dr. Hester has
developed a unique instrument to measure organizational climate. The
Semantic Climate Inventory (SCI) has been used with dramatic results to assess the organizational climate and then guide and monitor climate

Training Needs Assessment
The Hester Consulting
Group has developed and perfected an innovative approach to training needs assessment for supervisors and other staff. This method combines what management believes the staff should be taught with the staff's
perception of what they need to learn, which is extremely important. If the staff does not believe they need to learn something, they probably will not learn it. The results of this assessment are Training
Urgency Quotients (TUQ) that allow management to schedule the most important training first.
Team Building
The underpinnings of true teams are mutual trust, understanding, and shared goals. These cannot
be developed through the playing of childish games nor experiences completely removed from the reality of work, but by serious discussion among team members of issues that relate to their work setting and joint
efforts. The Hester Consulting Group takes a no-nonsense approach to team building in which objective measures are used to initiate and track the progress of the team building process.
Management Development and Coaching
The Hester Consulting Group can play an important part in an organization's management development program. Through periodic personal consultations with particular
executives, a Hester Consulting Group staff person can assist the executives to increase their management techniques, improve their leadership abilities, gain a greater understanding of teamwork, and sharpen their work-related
goals. Electronic communication, via phone or e-mail, allows the individuals to receive coaching from our staff as unique situations arise.
Program Evaluation
Organizations operating in any segment of
our economy, be it in the corporate, non-profit, or governmental sectors, need to know whether various efforts are cost-effective. Many organizations find it difficult to know if the resources expended on employee
training, customer relations, employee assistance, or other people-oriented programs are worth it.
