InterSurvSystem InterSurvS
The ISS is derived from the interest component of the MVE system. HES introduced the ISS for our customers when they asked if we could develop a stand-alone version. The ISS system includes the ISS Testing
Manual, software for unlimited use to process ISS data, and 25 InterSurv interest inventories.
An Interest Test Plus
This test is unique among interest tests, integrating interests with physical and intellectual capacities based on past performance. The ISS uses the same 17 personal characteristics as the MVE, which
include Physical Limitations, Working Condition Restrictions, People Relationships, Reasoning, Language, Math, and GED levels.
Interest Categories
Response to the items, which represent the 12 interest categories of the Guide to Occupational Exploration, requires an 'L' (Like), 'D' (Dislike) or a '?' for (Uncertain), and takes less than 15 minutes to
administer.
The ISS Report
The ISS software produces a readable report for the individual. It profiles all 12 major categories of the GOE, ranks 66 four-digit GOE subcategories, and lists specific jobs that fit his or her interests,
intellectual level, special needs and capacities from the HES database of over 2,100 jobs selected from the Dictionary of Occupational Titles.
